

Philipsburg, May 11, 2026 — The Customs Department announces the implementation of updated import declaration requirements aimed at improving processing efficiency and enhancing border security.
Effective June 1, 2026, all importers and customs brokers will be required to submit declarations electronically through the Customs Digital Portal. Paper-based submissions will no longer be accepted, except in exceptional circumstances approved by Customs.
Key changes include:
The Department encourages all stakeholders to register and familiarize themselves with the system ahead of the implementation date.
Training sessions will be held throughout May for importers and brokers.
